Job Description Summary:
Interface with cross functional team to design and develop functional solutions that achieve design requirements & to ensure proper design interfaces with other components. Work with other functions and the design/releasing team. Translate functional objectives into technical requirements and solutions.Create and analyze alternative design concepts and integrate systems components. Support benchmarking of competitive vehicles. Maintain core Engineering Design Practices (EDP’s). Update Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan and Report (DVPR), and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) - ensure functional objectives, guidelines and corporate requirements are met. Work with Tier I suppliers and software releases and/or hardware designs to meet program timing and deliverables. Interface with stakeholders at all levels including vehicle teams, HMI, validation, requirement leads, technical specialists, leadership, and develop robust functional designs. Support resolution and design updates of vehicle packaging, logbook and manufacturing feasibility issues. Conduct Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling (Catia / NX) and template set-up & maintenance using Knowledge Based Engineering template modeling techniques. Develop and release BDU and related component designs that satisfy vehicle level. Determine the wiring effect for bulletins and product plan changes and provide electrical build support. Develop program High Voltage Battery Systems (HVES) concepts that satisfy battery pack and vehicle level functional objectives down to the battery module design level. Reports to company headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI. Roving employee – will work at various unknown client sites throughout the U.S. for up to 100% of the time. Must be willing to travel anywhere in the U.S. and may be assigned to work at client sites across the U.S.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Engineering (any), Management (any) or related field of study and two (2) years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. In lieu of a Master’s degree in Engineering (any), Management (any) or related field of study and two (2) years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained, employer will also accept a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any), Management (any) or related field of study and five (5) years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must also have demonstrated experience in the following: Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA); GD&T; Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling; Catia; BOMs; 3D/2D modeling; and Teamcenter.
Salary offered for the position is: $123,261.00 - $128,261.00/year.

900 N Squirrel Rd, Suite 300, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Reports to company headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI. Roving employee – will work at various unknown client sites throughout the U.S. for up to 100% of the time.
