About the role

Job Description Summary:

Interface with cross functional team to design and develop functional solutions; Translate Functional Objectives into technical requirements and solutions; Create and analyze alternative design concepts; Maintain core Engineering Design Practices (EDP’s); Implement innovation roadmaps as well as coordinate the advancement of new technologies and procedures to improve program timing; Own and update Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA); Manage Tier I suppliers and software releases and/or hardware designs to meet program timing and deliverables; Concept Design and feasibility studies; Conduct Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling (Catia / NX) and template set-up & maintenance using Knowledge Based Engineering template modeling techniques; Google Suite and MS-Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook); Early Computer Aided Design (CAD); Generate CAD and 2D drawings for components including GD&T; Build detailed harness BOMs; Lead and coordinate Product Development Tea (POT) meetings with suppliers; Coordinate change management (CCD, CN, A, PER and ICD); Develop program High Voltage Battery Systems (HVES); Coordinate T HVBS module packaging activities with advanced concept engineering team and battery pack design team; Develop and publish HVS module performance standards; Author and submit source packages on time to support product plans; Develop component and system level OVPs and coordinate component level OVP; Execute design for manufacturing process and coordinate assembly process with manufacturing engineering; Develop and execute system integration Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) for HVES modules;  Develop and publish HVBS performance standards; and Develop system level validation plans, end of line test, and  continuous conformance test requirements. Reports to company headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI. Roving employee- will work at various unknown client sites throughout the U.S for up to 100% of the time. Must be willing to travel anywhere in the U.S and may be assigned to work at client sites across the U.S.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Engineering (any) and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must have demonstrated experience with: Designing and developing automotive seating systems and components; Defining functional requirements and developing system DVPR, DFMEA and function models; Releasing component performance specifications, drawings and system validation; Interacting with other functional Engineering groups, suppliers, manufacturing plants and Purchasing; Engineering Design Practices (EDP’s); Designing Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA); Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling (Catia / NX) and template set-up and maintenance; and Generating CAD and 2D drawings.

Salary offered for the position is: $91,520.00 - $96,520.00/year.

Primary Work Location:

900 N Squirrel Rd, Suite 300, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Reports to company headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI. Roving employee- will work at various unknown client sites throughout the U.S for up to 100% of the time. Must be willing to travel anywhere in the U.S and may be assigned to work at client sites across the U.S.
