About the Role:
•    Responsible for the prompt and accurate on-boarding of Associates & Colleagues into our payroll system (PeopleSoft & FastTrack), which involve follow-ups with branches in case of missing or incorrect information
•    Process timely and accurately timesheets, expenses and leaves, ensuring the maximum level of compliance towards internal controls and applicable regulations
•    Ensure payroll errors are resolved using the appropriate resolution journey
•    Promptly escalate cases, system errors, risks and concerns to Assistant Payroll Manager
•    Provide exceptional customer service through responsive, effective and timely response to queries via phone, cases or email

What you will be doing: 
•    Leading, engaging, and developing 4 direct reports based in NZ and coordinating payroll processing across the region. 
•    Managing the end-to-end payroll cycles, including processing new hires, terminations, and employee changes; ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
•    Providing payroll support and guidance to employees, addressing any queries or issues in a timely manner.
•    Preparing and submitting all necessary payroll-related information, documentation, and/or analytical reporting to relevant stakeholders.
•    Preparing and submitting PAYE returns and other Inland Revenue (IR) filings; reconcile payroll accounts and support month-end and year-end financial processes.
•    Staying up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and regulations and proactively adapting and communicating processes accordingly.
•    Identifying and implementing process and system improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll and attendance management.

About You:
•    Min 5 years of payroll experience, preferably within a large or complex organization. 
•    Strong working knowledge of government payroll processes, including IRD, NZ Employment legislation including the Holidays act. 
•    Sound and strong knowledge of statutory reporting including superannuation, payroll tax, workers compensation, etc.
•    Proficient with payroll systems with ability to identify and resolve payroll-related issues. 
•    Strong attention to detail and a proven track record of maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. 
•    Proven experience in influencing others to drive meaningful change – you enjoy improving processes, increasing efficiencies and optimizing systems for better business outcomes
•    Solid Microsoft Office Package experience
•    Sound communication skills, verbal and written
•    Able to work collaboratively to solve issues and problems
•    Excellent business partnering and communication skills - you love working cross functionally and value the input of others, both internal team and external suppliers
