About the role

 The benefits specialist is responsible forassisting with the administration of all benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life short and long term disability and various voluntary benefit programs. Provides customer support on complex employee issues to ensure excellent customer service 

What you’ll be doing
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments I the HRIS and with third party benefits administrator and insurance carriers.
  • Ensures outstanding case load is kept to a minimum and responded to timely
  • Seeks ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality, productivity and customer service.
  • Assists with new-hire orientation.
  • Performs quality checks of benefit- related data
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Assists with open enrollment process. Assist with benefit projects, program implementation and design changes.
About you
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of study preferred OR the equivalent in experience or other training.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential preferred
  • Prior benefits and customer service experience preferred.
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, oral/written communication, project management, customer service, presentation, time management and PC skills.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work independently and assist employees as necessary, without guidance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, including demonstrating highly effective customer service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
