  • Ensure sector-specific regulations and Comp & Ben changes are applied correctly and proactively

✔ Manage, Motivate and Coach

  • Lead and support a team of payroll professionals — plan, delegate, and coach for performance

  • Organize team resources around key payroll cycles, from vacation pay and end-of-year bonuses to statutory updates

  • Foster a high-performing team culture through open communication, transparency, and continuous feedback

✔ Drive Operational Excellence

  • Maintain and improve payroll-related processes, procedures and tools

  • Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, HR) and external partners (SD Worx, insurance providers, auditors)

  • Guarantee flawless data management, reporting, and documentation in line with Belgian legal standards

✔ Partner Across the Business

  • Provide strategic input to management on payroll policy, workforce costs, and internal reporting

  • Handle complex employee cases and guide management with practical, compliant advice

  • Support internal controls, social inspections, and audits with expertise and precision

What You Bring
  • A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Law, or a related field

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in a similar payroll leadership role

  • Strong command of Dutch and French (both written and spoken); English is a plus

  • Expertise in Belgian social legislation and payroll processes

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel in particular); knowledge of E-blox is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills, process ownership, and a hands-on, no-nonsense mindset

  • Natural leadership qualities with a flair for coaching, motivating and uniting teams
