About the role

The HR Service Center Generalist acts as the face of Human Resources (HR) when interacting with colleagues and provides the first level of support and service delivery.

What you’ll be doing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Works as a trusted advisor, developing strong relationships with colleagues.

· Address initial colleague inquiries from the field and enters cases into appropriate systems for solutions and tracking.

· Leverages HR knowledge and interpersonal expertise to ensure appropriate first level response to colleague issues.

· Works with colleagues to evaluate the level of support needed for human relations, and work-related problems, and escalates as appropriate.

· Serves as subject matter expert on front line questions regarding benefits, leave of absence, payroll, PTO, background checks, drug testing, unemployment, worker’s compensation and general HR policies.

· Communicates human resources policies and programs to address employee relations issues as appropriate.

· Owns colleague inquiries and resolution from start to finish, including escalating employee relations issues to the Employee Relations Managers as appropriate; tracks resolution and always serving as the point of contact for the colleague.

· Provides administrative support for termination, transfers, promotion, performance improvement plans, etc.

· Documents processes and procedures as appropriate and provides standard and ad hoc reports upon request.

· Assists in rollout and implementation of HR programs.

· Coaches and assists in development of new team members.

· Identifies and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

· Ensures compliance with Data Privacy and Protection Guidelines.

· Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

About you

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or a related field with a minimum of one (1) year of HR generalist experience; or equivalent combination of post high school education and experience. Internship experience will be considered.

HR certification and previous experience working in a large complex organization is preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

· Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing with various levels of employees, management and senior leadership.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

· Ability to provide high-level customer service and a consultative approach to business unit stakeholders.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

· Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines.

· Knowledge of and ability to effectively utilize Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), such as PeopleSoft, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems, such as Salesforce.com.

· Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles, best practices, and standards of human resources administration, with an emphasis on employee relations.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

 Bi-lingual preferred but not required.
