About the role

The Manager, Technology Engineer leads a team of Technology Engineers across technology-enabled MSP programs. This role works closely with the ITD Head of MSP to ensure data governance, system integrity, and client satisfaction from implementation through ongoing program support. Additionally, this role requires a strong leader with exceptional data analysis, technical configuration, and cross-functional project management capabilities. The position oversees all aspects of data planning, configuration, validation, loading, and post-go-live support to ensure seamless integration between client requirements and technology platform capabilities.

What you’ll be doing

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and mentors a team of Technology Engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions
  • Acts as the primary liaison for all data activities between the project and implementation team, clients, VMS providers, and internal resources
  • Conducts performance reviews, identify training needs, and develop team capabilities through structured training and mentoring
  • Acts as the primary escalation point for implementation-related issues, driving swift resolution and maintaining alignment with MSP expectations
  • Provides guidance for all phases of technology configuration and support for client onboarding, expansions, and enhancement projects
  • Ensures accurate and timely execution of all data-related deliverables including gathering, analysis, configuration, and quality control
  • Maintains and governs the Data Configuration Workbook (CWB) and associated artifacts through all project phases
  • Manages detailed implementation timelines and milestones, ensuring resource alignment, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle for the team
  • Partners with Implementation Managers, Program Leaders, and Technology Teams to coordinate system configurations, UAT planning, and data readiness for go-live
  • Performs final QA checks for all configured and uploaded data
  • Establishes and enforce data validation standards and best practices
  • Stay current with data privacy regulations, IT security standards, and internal compliance policies—ensuring full team adherence
  • Provides oversight for support documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy of internal SOPs and client-specific workflows
  • Monitors and enhances support KPIs, including response times, resolution accuracy, ticket volume trends, and user satisfaction metrics
  • Improves existing tools, templates, and processes (e.g., CWB, data project plan) to enhance operational efficiency
  • Partners with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Solution Engineering, Program Mgmt Office, Shared Support, OPEX) to align configuration with business and technical requirements
  • Build strong relationships with MSP Program Leaders, serving as a trusted partner in delivering technical guidance, transparent solutions, and strategic insights
About you

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Five (5) + years of experience in data configuration, data management, or system implementation
  • Three (3) + years of experience managing or leading a technical or data-focused team
  • Experience with VMS systems (e.g., SAP Fieldglass, Beeline, VNDLY) and other workforce technology platforms
  • Experience working with large datasets, data transformation tools, and structured configuration documentation
  • Familiarity with CRM and/or ticketing systems, especially Salesforce

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficient in Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data validation), Word and Visualization tools

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $175,000 and $180,000. Salary may be determined based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. This position participates in Pontoon’s incentive program which also includes bonus eligibility.

Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non-qualified deferred compensation plan. Available paid leave includes Personal Time Off (PTO) on an accrual basis up to 152 hours a year, 10 Paid Holidays, 1 Community Service Day, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
