The Rates and Conditions associate ensures adherence to Industrial instruments, legislative requirements and organizational policies.

Your ability to interpret and translate industrial instruments is critical as is your understanding of HR data, and payroll systems. Your contributions will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of our payroll systems and ensuring exceptional service delivery across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding, interpretation and application of Industrial instruments.
  • Data and system maintenance including Award and Enterprise Agreement (payroll conditions and pay rates) set up, increases in rates and changes in classifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Industrial instruments and relevant legislation.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legislation, changes to awards or enterprise agreements.
  • Provide authoritative advice and interpretation on legislation and industrial instruments.
  • Accurately calculate and advise on rates of pay and entitlements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance payroll processes and maintain data integrity.
  • Calculate Long Service Leave entitlements as per state and relevant legislation.
  • Review and resolve complex payroll related discrepancies.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in payroll compliance, governance or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of complex awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Strong proficiency in set up and maintenance of payroll software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in excel.
  • Strong understanding of national employment laws and industry compliance requirements.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
