We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Procurement Consultant with experience in IT procurement or buying to support a strategic client account. This role will serve as a trusted resource to internal stakeholders, guiding them through the end-to-end requisition and sourcing process for contingent labor and Statement of Work (SOW) engagements, with a focus on IT and professional services categories.
This client-facing position requires strong commercial acumen, category expertise, and the ability to support procurement activities that align with business goals.
What you’ll be doingKey Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day workforce procurement activities across IT and other key categories (e.g., consulting), ensuring consistent delivery and compliance with program guidelines.
- Collaborate with client end users to assess requisition needs and recommend sourcing strategies that are competitive, compliant, and cost-effective.
- Act as a procurement subject matter expert, particularly within IT labor categories, providing input on job classification, rate benchmarks, and supplier engagement.
- Manage requisition activity using VMS technology (e.g., Fieldglass, Beeline), ensuring timely and high-quality submissions from suppliers.
- Apply recruiting knowledge to evaluate candidate submissions, screen for quality, and help ensure best-fit talent is delivered to client stakeholders.
- Contribute to cost analysis, rate negotiation, and identification of potential cost savings opportunities.
- Work with Business Analysts and program teams to support accurate, data-driven reporting and operational insights.
- Maintain awareness of contingent workforce trends, pricing models, and procurement best practices.
- Assist in the full lifecycle of SOW procurement, including vendor coordination, onboarding, and performance tracking.
- Provide training and communication to client stakeholders and suppliers on VMS usage and standard operating procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in procurement or buying, with a preference for IT procurement or contingent labor sourcing.
- Familiarity with Statement of Work (SOW) engagements and services procurement practices.
- Prior experience working within an MSP/VMS environment (e.g., Beeline, Fieldglass, Coupa).
- Understanding of rate structures, bill rate components, employment classification, and cost modeling.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in a client-facing environment.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel and data interpretation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Willingness to travel as needed (estimated <10%).
