About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud Platform Engineer to join our expanding Platform Operations/Engineering team. The Cloud Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in crafting solutions and aiding teams in transitioning to public cloud platforms. Responsibilities include managing an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) catalog, implementing a Cloud adoption framework, developing reusable tools within the MS Azure environment, and optimizing our serverless container approach. This role involves collaborating with various teams and adhering to best practices and protocols.

What you’ll be doing
  • Establishing cloud infrastructure and organizational prerequisites for utilizing cloud technologies securely.
  • Preparing IT landscape for cloud integration and executing the Cloud Strategy outlined by the Executive Board.
  • Constructing a platform to streamline operations and abstract complex infrastructure elements.
  • Identifying automation opportunities using IaC and scripting technologies.
  • Managing path to production and communicating regarding new products being launched.
  • Building and managing CI/CD pipelines for deploying Applications and Infrastructure.
  • Creating reliable solutions with an eye on Capacity/Cost Management.
  • Producing detailed technical documentation and contributing to team knowledgebase.
  • Building self-service capability for managing Azure infrastructure components.
  • Experience with Cloud Native approach and modern architectures.
  • Troubleshooting production issues and conducting capacity planning.
  • Collaborating on the development of documentation as cloud operations mature.
  • Proactively communicating with stakeholders regarding system availability.
About you
  • More than 5 years of experience in designing and operating high-performance, secure, multi-tenant cloud services supporting a CI/CD model. Experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub is preferred.
  • Adopts an automation-first approach wherever possible using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting technologies such as Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, etc.
  • Substantial experience with Azure, encompassing all generic Azure services. Experience with other cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Good understanding and experience with container orchestration technologies and serverless strategies (e.g., AKS, Kubernetes).
  • Solid skills in cloud networking, including DNS, HTTP/TCP, virtual networks, routing, firewalls, etc.
  • Proficient in observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk, Logic Monitor) and possesses strong observability skills to enhance monitoring, logging, and tracing capabilities across the cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with object-oriented languages like Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Preference for experience with a variety of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts in the cloud environment.
  • Thorough understanding and experience with cloud security and cloud networking concepts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Occasional travel required, up to 20%.
