Meet our Nordic Engagement & Communication Specialist

Ida started working part-time as a HR Consultant in the Pedagogical department at Adecco in Oslo in 2016, while she was still studying. From June 2018, after she finished her studies, she started working full-time. In September 2020, she was offered a Nordic position in the Adecco Group Nordic HR and is now part of the Culture & Change team, as Nordic Engagement & Communication Specialist.

She has a bachelor's degree in Administration and Management from OsloMet, she graduated in 2018.

What does a typical day in your work life look like?

All my days are different. That's actually one of my favorite things about my job, that I get to do different things all the time. I get to work with so many different people across the group both in the Nordics as well as globally. But in short, I am responsible for driving culture and communications initiatives across our three Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden and Finland) and for all our group brands (TAG, Adecco, B+C and Modis). This can include creating a change communication plan for implementing a new HR system, holding diversity and inclusion trainings for our colleagues, writing our internal newsletter, and improving overall the culture and communication in the Nordics.

It's probably cliche to say, but not one day goes by without me learning something new.

What makes your work interesting?

The answer to that question probably ties pretty well with the first one cause one of the things I love about my job is that I get to work on so many different topics and projects. I also have the privilege of collaborating with loads of unique, talented people. And that of course, lets me experience different perspectives and thoughts around many things. I’m responsible for many initiatives related to our company culture, and having a wide range of input is crucial to put together initiatives that creates value and impact.

I also really like the topics that I work with, people and communication, well-being, diversity and inclusion. These are all topics that are close to my heart and they are all very important, not only in work life, but in life in general.

Give one important fact about your career

I'm sure I wouldn't have been where I am today if I hadn’t always raised my hand and said yes when opportunities have arisen. Sometimes I might not have had the slightest clue about what I'd signed up for but I've always been proactive in my own career. So, I've just jumped on opportunities and that's something I'm happy about and that I would also advise people to do.

I'd say we're a company full of passion, drive and fun.

What one advice would you give your younger self when starting your career?

If I were to think of myself and what advice I would have needed a few years back, it would be to not put too much pressure on yourself. It's OK not to be the best at or to be great at everything, but just make sure to surround yourself with people that complement your own talents and then you'll be unstoppable together. And always be true to yourself.

Why should somebody come and work for TAG?

As a person still early in my career I have experienced TAG as a place of great opportunity. To me it is important to grow and develop, both professionally and personally. Sometimes growth means being thrown into the deep end, and for me TAG has been a great place for that, since I’ve always had people believing in me and I’m confident there is someone there to support me if things go wrong.

Even at times where I’ve struggled to believe in myself, I’ve always had a great support system and colleagues and leaders cheering me on. I believe that surrounding yourself with people that give you drive and energy is crucial and I have met so many of those in TAG.
